Senior Project Manager - Data Fabric

What’s the Opportunity?

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-performance data and compute projects within a cutting-edge technology team. The role centers on overseeing large-scale Data Fabric programs as part of a strategy to push the boundaries of cloud-based data analytics and machine learning (ML/AI). This is an exciting chance to manage a portfolio valued at around $10 million CAD, working with top-tier professionals in the Capital Markets space.

What Will You Do?

Mobilization

Partner with senior stakeholders to align business objectives and define specific project goals

Establish project scope, budget, and resource requirements, ensuring all aspects are covered

Lead project planning workshops to clarify and refine the delivery scope

Obtain necessary approvals for architecture, risk management, and financial processes

Project Planning

Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive and actionable project plan

Create and manage a resource plan, ensuring proper team composition and skillsets

Maintain and manage Risks, Issues, Assumptions, and Dependencies (RAID) through regular updates

Identify and monitor the Critical Path, ensuring key activities stay on track to meet deadlines

Project Delivery

Coordinate with engineering teams and vendors to execute the project and meet milestones

Identify risks or blockers early, managing or escalating them as needed

Work alongside Quality Engineering to ensure automation and smooth testing processes

Define and track performance metrics to provide visibility into delivery progress

Governance & Communications

Provide detailed project status reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment

Regularly update internal teams on project progress and how their work supports overarching business goals

Track delivery against milestones and performance metrics, managing risks and issues effectively

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Minimum Requirements

Strong independent work ethic, with the ability to think strategically and manage competing priorities

Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with a focus on delivering results

Over 10 years of experience managing medium-to-high complexity initiatives

Project Management Certification (PMP® or equivalent)

Proven experience working with cross-functional, multi-site teams

Solid understanding of Financial Services and Capital Markets
